Web Forum: Is Bush goal of Mideast deal within a year realistic?
It's not hard to negotiate a peace deal. What's hard is negotiating a lasting peace. To get a deal, all you need to do is twist a few arms and/or line up a willing patsy who relies on you to keep their position. To get peace however requires that you build an agreement based on justice that gives all parties a chance to succeed. Frankly, after watching Bush Jr.'s efforts in Afghanistan, Iraq and Iran, I don't see any evidence that he has even a remote understanding of how to go about it. Gary Dale |
