re. Should cleric speak here?
I commend Immigration Minister Monte Solberg and his department on their decision not to bar the entry of the controversial British imam Shaykh Riyadh ul Haq to Canada.
Solberg has placed a big responsibility both on the Islamic Foundation of Toronto, which invited the imam to speak at its youth training conference, and the parents who enrolled their children in it.
Now they will have to decide whether it is in the best interests of the Canadian Muslim community to expose its youth to an imam whose warped interpretation of holy scripture preaches hate for other religions.
